Proverbs 17:20 says, "He who has a deceitful heart finds no good, and he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil."

We know from Jeremiah 17:9 that, “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?"

So most everyone has a deceitful heart that we can not trust. But 1 Samuel 16:7 tells us that God looks on the heart and not on outward appearance, so if everyone'sheart is wicked how could God look at David's heart and choose him to be anointed as Israel's king?

God Himself testified of David, "I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will." So David was different because he didn't listen to his heart, he understood his heart was wrong and he wanted to have a heart just like God's heart. David said in Psalm 51:10 "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."

As we look back to Proverbs 17:20 James 3:8 says, "But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison."

If no man can tame the tongue, then aren't we doomed to fall into evil no matter what? Won't we just be continually defiled(Matthew 15:11)? And how can we be doers of the Word not hearers only (James 1:22) if we can't control ourselves?

David says in Psalm 141:3, "Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips." (that entire Psalm is a good one to read on the topic of hearts and tongues really) David went to God for help because he could not help himself.

Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

So if you want to be a better person the only way is through heart surgery (Ezekiel 36:26) and the surgeon is God Almighty! You can't change yourself so you need God to change you. That's why God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for all your sins on the cross, if you repent and make Jesus Christ your Lord you will be forgiven and free to be the man or woman that only God could make you into!

Jesus Himself paralleled our Proverb in Luke 6:45, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh."

If you want to control your tongue you have to control your heart and the only way this work is accomplished is through reliance on the one true God!

I'm pleased to announce that my EP got finished yesterday and has been up since yesterday as well (haven't gotten 'round to making this post 'til now). It's been a year since my last, even though I could've probably released something a lot sooner, I don't think it'd have been as good.

If you're unfamiliar with me and my music, I make lounge/downtempo/chill music with vocals. Sort of a strange singer/songwriter deal goin' on here. My lyrics and themes are based entirely around things pertaining to my God and King Jesus Christ and other things pertaining to my Christian faith.

I pray y'all are blessed by my music and I want y'all to remember, it is completely free to download or stream and I don't require your contact information.

Here is the link: https://rahmemhotep.bandcamp.com

I also want y'all to remember that salvation and eternal life is a free gift given by my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. All you have to do is reach out and take it by believing on Him and making Him Lord of your life. Feel free to PM me if you would like to know more.

Jeremiah 19:5 "They have built pagan shrines to Baal, and there they burn their sons as sacrifices to Baal. I have never commanded such a horrible deed; it never even crossed my mind to command such a thing!"

That's the LORD speaking to Jeremiah the prophet. God never taught us how to be evil or how to commit wicked acts. It is you and me who sin, not the LORD. When the LORD allows something bad to happen, it doesn't mean He is the originator.

Plainly put: If you are blaming God for the evil of this world you need a shift of focus, because He doesn't compel us to sin. We are at fault.

God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to be conceived of a virgin, live a perfect sinless life, and die on a cross as the perfect sacrifice for your sins so you could be counted righteous by the blood of the sinless Lamb and enter Heaven. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after His death to show Himself powerful over sin, death, and the devil. Jesus Christ IS God. Repent of your sins and come to Him today!

People of NG, I'm finally doing it! I am rather close to finishing one entire original Christmas song and it should definitely be done before Christmas, it might even be done within the coming week! I have a complete instrumental, set of lyrics, vocal melodies (but not all harmonies are worked out yet), vocal style, I just need to record it and mix it and then I'm done.

This year has been really rough for me financially and I know I'm partially to blame, but the LORD keeps showing me again and again how He provides. Psalm 37:25 says, "Once I was young, and now I am old. Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned or their children begging for bread." This verse has helped get through and a song based on this called Never No Never by Joseph Habedank has gotten me pumped up this year.

I also want to throw it out there that I am very close to the completion of another 4 song EP, but I might delay it until the new year. The last song I'm working on for it is inspired by Jonah's prayer as he was in the belly of the great fish. This EP will not be a concept EP like You Are Forever was.

On a sort of similar note, I have a ton of intrumentals just sittin' around around waiting to be finished :P

Please drop by my bandcamp page for a couple free EPs!

Please watch the video on the other side of this link. It is about how Creationism is true and shows how you can not logically argue against the Christian worldview.

Lol! A youtube user named Dex-Sothoth, who's a fan of HP Lovecraft contacted me a year or so ago asking if he could use my old song that never got finished called 'Beyond The Ether'. This was a song that, if it were finished, would have had Lovecraftian lyrics because I used to love HP Lovecraft's fiction. He wanted to use the song for a series of Let's Plays that he was going to be producing. Since I look at my old non-Christian music as being mostly worthless now, I was like, "Sure."

So today I was looking up my own name on Google to see if anybody was uploading my music that shouldn't be (it's happened before) and found his channel. You can find his first video here and he does indeed use part of the song.

My new EP came out during the NG down time yesterday! I make lounge/downtempo music in case you didn't know.

You can find it here: https://rahmemhotep.bandcamp.com

And it's FREE.

This EP is less conceptual than my last EP and is really just a few songs put together in an order that works. If you ask me my favourite song on the EP is The Tongue Is A Fire, so be sure to listen to the whole thing.

I used my new octave mandolin in this EP and it may surprise somebody to know that there are no guitars used on this, just my electric acoustic octave mandolin.

I also once again have to give a thank you to @samulis (if I remember right) and @etherealwinds for making the etherealwinds harp VST which I used on The Tongue Is A Fire. I almost forgot to thank @Lich for providing a link to some free samples which I used one on The Tongue Is A Fire and one on 1Cor 15:51.

All glory be to God in the highest!

I was watching Through The Bible with Les Feldick this morning and he said something that I think I tend to forget myself, "We're not sinners because we sin. We sin because we're sinners."

Ephesians 2:3 "Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others."

Guys, we're born sinners and we sin, because that's our nature.
We can try to fight it and try to be a better person and try to stop doing this or that and try to go to church and try reading the Bible, but we need to stop TRYING and we need to start TRUSTING in Jesus' finished work on the cross.

Ephesians 2:4-7 continues "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."

We are sinners and we can't save ourselves from our inherent sin nature, but Jesus Christ, the Son of God who was made flesh to die on the cross and pay our sin-debt and rose out from among the dead into life can forgive you of your sins and change you from 'Condemned Sinner' into a 'Friend of God'. Trust in Him.
